Fauna surveys and management: Birds, bats, lizards, frogs, invertebrates, fish

We have the expertise and experience to deliver a comprehensive range of fauna surveys across all project types. Our capabilities span avifauna, bats, lizards, frogs, terrestrial and freshwater invertebrates, and fish. Our team includes certified and permitted specialists who provide expert advice on survey design, monitoring programmes, mitigation measures, and the preparation of management plans for indigenous fauna.

Our services include:

  • Bat surveys using automatic bat monitoring equipment
  • Modelling bat activity and movement in relation to environmental and site-specific conditions
  • Bird surveys, including five-minute bird counts, flight height surveys, playback surveys, and deployment of automatic recording devices
  • Bird banding and monitoring programmes
  • Monitoring nest occupancy, species displacement, breeding success, and fledgling outcomes
  • Braided river bird surveys
  • Lizard surveys using a range of techniques, including artificial cover objects (ACOs), tree-mounted covers, tracking tunnels, and trapping methods
  • Lizard salvage operations and management plan preparation
  • Freshwater and terrestrial invertebrate surveys and species identification
  • Fish surveys, monitoring, and salvage operations
