Stephen Brown

Stephen is a Marine Ecologist specialising in benthic and estuarine ecosystems, with extensive experience preparing ecological assessments, monitoring programmes, and environmental management projects across Aotearoa New Zealand. His work has included assessing ecological effects associated with estuarine discharges, coastal wastewater outfalls, coastal developments, marinas, seawalls, jetties, marine aquaculture, and dredging. Stephen has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed technical reports and presented findings at resource management hearings and international conferences. His experience also includes environmental management for Te Uri o Hau Settlement Trust and international marine ecology projects in Chile and Vanuatu, including technical support for the Port Sandwich and Port Simonsen wharf developments led by Wildlands.
