William Shaw

William is a highly experienced ecologist with broad expertise across a range of disciplines and ecosystems throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. He specialises in ecological and significance assessments, ecological restoration and natural area surveys, and has provided expert evidence for resource management proceedings, including Board of Inquiry, Environment Court and Planning Tribunal cases. William has also provided ecological and policy advice to numerous local authorities. He is a Crown-appointed trustee of Te Pua o Whirinaki Regeneration Trust, working alongside Ngāti Whare to support the restoration of Whirinaki. William is a former member and Chair of the Whirinaki Conservation Park Advisory Committee and has also served on the East Coast National Parks and Reserves Board.
